Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Project Management Area Lead for the Power & Energy Management Team in the Northeast Region. The PMAL will oversee day-to-day activities of local/regional PM teams, drive project design, budgets, and schedules, and ensure delivery aligned with WSP standards and client expectations.

The role emphasizes leadership, PM process compliance, and mentoring staff, while collaborating across disciplines to deliver reliable, client-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; PMP preferred.
• 15+ years post-education PM experience in Power Delivery/Utility.
• 5+ years leading engineering/construction teams for medium to large HV/extra HV projects.
• Knowledge of PM processes: contract, risk, schedule, EV, QA/QC; strong leadership.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for Substation/Transmission Line projects in the Northeast Region, managing budgets, forecasts, margins, and KPIs.
• Serve as a PM subject matter expert ensuring compliance with internal standards.
• Support recruitment plans and address retention; oversee performance reviews.
• Mentor PM staff on processes, earned value management, and PMBOK practices.
• Lead project kick-off meetings and maintain client communications and reporting.
