Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Management Area Lead to oversee a regional PM team in the Power & Energy Management sector. The role focuses on delivering Substation and Transmission Line projects with strong PM practice, budget control, risk management, and client satisfaction.

Based in multiple locations with the ability to work remotely from a mutually agreed location, travel to client offices will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; PMP certification will be considered.
• 15+ years of post-education project management experience in Power Delivery/Utility.
• 5+ years leading engineering/construction teams for medium to large electrical utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management processes and tools: Contract, schedule (Primavera P6), risk, change, earned value, and financial management.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for Substation and Transmission Line projects across the Northeast Region, managing budgets, forecasts, margins, KPIs, risks, and contractual obligations.
• Ensure compliance with internal PM standards and address current/future PM challenges in a large organization.
• Mentor PM staff, participate in recruitment, and support performance reviews and salary adjustments.
• Lead kick-off meetings, resource planning, and stakeholder engagement; report project progress to clients and senior management.
• Oversee risk reviews, QA/QC, and technical reviews, and ensure updates to PMP, QP, PSP, and other docs.
