Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to own the Dual Voltage Distribution Box (DVDB) within the TeraWave Spacecraft Bus. You will drive from requirements through production release, balancing space-grade reliability with manufacturability at constellation scale.

The role emphasizes hardware qualification, MIL-STD-1540 processes, and telemetry/health monitoring for a flight-critical power subsystem. WA-based position, on-site collaboration required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field; 7+ years hands-on electronics hardware development experience.
• Design experience with power distribution architectures, SSPCs, relay switching, overcurrent protection, and fault isolation in space/high-reliability environments.
• Experience with multi-voltage/dual-bus systems above 50V, load management, and sequencing.
• Hardware qualification campaigns per MIL-STD-1540 and related standards; test plan development and anomaly resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead circuit design for the Dual Voltage Distribution Box (DVDB) and power distribution for the spacecraft.
• Define load switch sequencing and fault response with systems engineering teams.
• Own DVDB telemetry architecture and health monitoring interfaces.
• Develop hardware requirements, ICDs, and design specs with thermal, structures, harness, and avionics teams.
• Drive FMEA/FMECA activities and ensure single-point-failure elimination.
