Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to own the Dual Voltage Distribution Box (DVDB) from requirements through qualification and flight release, balancing space-grade reliability with cost and manufacturability.

This role leads design, DFx, and test planning for high-rate production, coordinating with thermal, structures, harness, and avionics teams. Proficiency in Altium LTspice and Windchill, and MIL-STD-1540 experience, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years hardware development experience.
• Experience with power distribution architectures (SSPCs, relay switching, fault isolation) for high reliability.
• Radiation-tolerant/space hardware practices and MIL-STD-1540 familiarity.
• Experience with dual-bus or multi-voltage distributions (>50V).

Responsibilities

• Lead DVDB circuit design including SSPCs, relay switching and fault isolation.
• Define load switch sequencing and health telemetry interfaces.
• Own DVDB requirements, ICDs, and design specifications with systems engineering.
• Develop hardware qualification plans per MIL-STD-1540 and lead anomaly resolution.
• Coordinate with production, test, and assembly for high-rate manufacturing.
