Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Principal Power Electronics Engineer (onsite) in New Freedom, PA. The role centers on designing, testing, and sustaining power electronics PCBA designs with embedded processors and FPGA/CPLD, leveraging MATLAB/SIMULINK for control modeling and verification.

Responsibilities include prototype testing, HIL verification, field support, cost analysis, and ensuring quality and reliability across environmental specs.

Qualifications

• BSEE/BSCE or related field required.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics and motor control.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and verification.
• Experience with PCBAs and embedded processors; FPGA/CPLD knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model systems and simulate using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Conduct prototype testing, hardware-in-the-loop verification, and drive control performance.
• Support field issue troubleshooting and control-method improvements.
• Maintain and lead electronic circuit designs with embedded processors/FPGA/CPLD.
• Perform cost analyses and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
