Johnson Controls in New Freedom, PA seeks a Power Electronics Principal Engineer to lead design, testing and sustain PCBA power electronics for VSD control in chiller applications, using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

You will model, simulate, prototype test hardware-in-the-loop systems, support field issue resolution, and drive reliability through design for environmental specs. BSEE/BSCE required; embedded processors/FPGA, power electronics, MATLAB/SIMULINK knowledge essential.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team-oriented environment with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of PCBA designs with embedded processors and/or FPGA.
• Understanding of power electronics and motor control.
• Understanding of system modeling and simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct system modeling, system simulation and verification using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Conduct prototype testing on hardware-in-loop system, variable speed drives and chiller to verify control performance.
• Support field issue trouble shooting and control method improvements.
• Maintain/lead electronic circuit designs with embedded processors and FPGA/CPLD.
• Perform worst case circuit analysis and incorporation of appropriate reliability principles to ensure reliable operation over the environmental specifications.
• Assist internal customers to develop, test and support PCBA related projects.
• Independently conduct and apply cost analysis to feasibility studies on proposed designs or modifications to existing designs.
• Understanding and complying with quality policy, procedures and instructions to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
