Job summary

LG Magna e-Powertrain USA, Inc. in Troy, MI seeks a Power Electronics Engineer with 5+ years in automotive development. You will drive power electronics design, including converters and inverters, and collaborate with HQ and regional teams to meet customer requirements.

On-site role requiring strong fault analysis, root-cause investigations, and cross-functional communication across time zones. Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of development engineering experience in the automotive industry or related field.
• Experience in power electronics including converter and inverter technologies.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control system configurations.
• Proficient with test equipment: oscilloscope, function generator, and power supply.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer technical communication to ensure accurate understanding of requirements by internal teams.
• Attend PDT and other meetings to capture issues and communicate resolutions to HQ and regional directors.
• Create and maintain engineering specs, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs throughout product development.
• Provide on-site engineering support at customer locations (e.g., software reflashes, samples).
• Lead root cause analysis of warranty products and coordinate with global teams.
• Lead technical risk reporting to HQ and cross-functional teams.
• Prepare technical materials for RFQ/RFP and act as lead technical liaison with customers.
• Conduct technical research and benchmarking for new business opportunities.
