Job summary

LG Magna USA in Michigan seeks an experienced electrical/electronic engineer to lead power electronics development for drive motors and related systems. You will work with global teams, support AGP/Quality processes, and provide on-site engineering at customer locations.

The role requires a strong background in converters, inverters, and control systems, plus the ability to coordinate with HQ across time zones and drive technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of development engineering experience in the automotive industry or related field.
  • Experience in practical power electronics including converters and inverters.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and control system configurations.
  • Proficient with test equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, power supply).
  • Ability to select electrical/electronic components and understand analog/digital circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Guide customer technical communication to ensure clear requirements.
  • Attend PDT and meetings to understand development and mass production issues.
  • Provide recommendations to HQ with regional directors and lead engineers.
  • Create and maintain engineering specs, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs.
  • Support APQP, DFM/DFA, and IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Provide onsite engineering support at customer locations.
  • Lead root cause analysis and warranty part analysis with HQ and global teams.
  • Report technical risks and issues to HQ and cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare technical communications for RFQ/RFP stages and act as lead window to customer and HQ.
