Job summary

Eaton Corporation seeks a Power Electronic Engineering Specialist for its Advanced Technology team in the PCS group. The role focuses on delivering a power electronics technology platform for circuit protection products, including low and medium voltage breakers, with an emphasis on developing switching topologies and gate driver circuits.

You will work with an Advanced Technology team to design power electronic devices, collaborate with global resources, and participate in product development

Qualifications

• MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of related experience or BS with 15+ years or PhD with 8+ years.
• Strong DC microgrid circuit protection experience.
• Knowledge of Codes and Standards development for semiconductor circuit breakers.
• Hands-on experience with analog, digital and power circuits and lab testing.
• Proficient in design & simulation tools like Altium, PSIM, ANSYS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, and C programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a power electronics technology platform for protection and motor controls.
• Develop power electronics switching topology based on system requirements.
• Provide technical design direction to engineers and coordinate validation efforts.
• Lead design reviews and maintain SME in power electronics for solid state/hybrid breakers.
• Collaborate with global teams and Codes and Standards development.
