Placements24 seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer for a design and maintenance role in Upington, Northern Cape. You will manage power distribution projects, perform load flow and protection studies, and ensure compliance with SANS/IEC standards in a challenging energy environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, ECSA registration, 7+ years in distribution networks, and strong software skills (ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• ECSA professional registration required.
• 7+ years of power systems experience focused on distribution networks.
• Proficiency with ETAP, PSS/E and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver's license; familiarity with Northern Cape energy sector is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design, analyse, and optimise electrical power distribution systems.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, schematics and specifications for power projects.
• Conduct load flow, short circuit and protection coordination studies.
• Ensure compliance with national/international codes (SANS, IEC).
• Oversee construction and commissioning of electrical infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for distribution networks.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure success.
• Perform site inspections and evaluate electrical installations.
• Develop maintenance plans and strategies for electrical assets.
