Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in San Diego and surrounding markets. You will guide a wind energy transmission, substation and studies-focused practice, building client relationships and mentoring a growing team.

The role offers entrepreneurial autonomy, strong bonus potential, and a path toward ownership as the practice scales, with a focus on integrity and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience managing wind energy or related projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Familiar with standards, regulations, and best practices for power delivery.
• Extensive client contacts with architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners or landowners.
• Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel and GIS.
• Business development and proposal/budgeting experience.
• Strong communication and staff mentoring abilities.
• Proven track record in profitable land development projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Power Delivery practice focusing on transmission, substation and power studies.
• Develop growth vision and build a client base and project team.
• Coordinate engineering, energy assessment, and construction activities.
• Provide strategic leadership, set goals, and maintain client relationships.
• Mentor staff and allocate resources effectively to deliver projects.
• Drive an autonomous, high-performing practice with potential for ownership.
