Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in San Diego and surrounding markets. You will guide a wind energy transmission, substation and studies-focused practice, building client relationships and mentoring a growing team.

The role offers entrepreneurial autonomy, strong bonus potential, and a path toward ownership as the practice scales, with a focus on integrity and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience managing wind energy or related projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Familiar with standards, regulations, and best practices for power delivery.
• Extensive client contacts with architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners or landowners.
• Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel and GIS.
• Business development and proposal/budgeting experience.
• Strong communication and staff mentoring abilities.
• Proven track record in profitable land development projects.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in San Diego and surrounding markets.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will lead a practice specializing in Power Delivery (transmission, substation, and/or power studies) engineering services.

• This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for a Power Delivery practice while growing their own projects, clients and team around them.

• Coordinate or direct development, energy assessment, engineering, or construction activities to ensure that wind project needs and objectives are me.

• Leadership responsibilities include:

  • Operating with integrity and sound business principals

  • Providing vision, business planning and strategy

  • Establishing goals

  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships

  • Having open communication with your partners and team

  • Growing and leading a land development practice

• Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.
• The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably

Base Salary Range:

• $175,000 to $255,000
• Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
