Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in the greater Los Angeles area. The role requires strong leadership, client development and a track record of delivering wind energy or related projects.

You will build and mentor a team, manage strategic growth, and oversee engineering and project delivery across transmission, substation and power studies, with opportunities for ownership based on performance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience managing wind energy or related projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Familiar with the relevant standards, regulations, and best practices for power delivery projects.
• Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or landowners.
• Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel, and/or GIS.
• Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work.
• Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization and mentor staff.
• Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably.

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in the greater Los Angeles and surrounding markets.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will lead a practice specializing in Power Delivery (transmission, substation, and/or power studies) engineering services.
• This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for a Power Delivery practice while growing their own projects, clients and team around them.
• Coordinate or direct development, energy assessment, engineering, or construction activities to ensure that wind project needs and objectives are me.

Leadership Responsibilities Include

• Having open communication with your partners and team
• Growing and leading a land development practice

• Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.
• The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.

Base Salary Range

• $175,000 to $255,000
• Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
