Job summary

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in San Diego and surrounding markets. You will drive growth by developing wind energy projects, building a strong client network, and mentoring a growing team locally.

The role combines leadership with technical excellence, offering autonomy to shape the practice, manage projects profitably, and pursue ownership through a strong bonus program. Expect an influential, high-impact leadership position.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience managing wind energy or related projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Familiar with the relevant standards, regulations, and best practices for power delivery projects.
• Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or landowners.
• Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel, and GIS.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in San Diego and surrounding markets.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead a practice specializing in Power Delivery (transmission, substation, and/or power studies) engineering services.

This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for a Power Delivery practice while growing their own projects, clients and team around them.

Coordinate or direct development, energy assessment, engineering, or construction activities to ensure that wind project needs and objectives are me.

• Growing and leading a land development practice

Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.

The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.

Base Salary Range:

$175,000 to $255,000

Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
