Job summary

ABB's Service Division seeks a Field Service Engineer in the United States to execute startup, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair on electrical power distribution equipment. You will perform field service on low- and medium-voltage gear, diagnose failures, and support upgrades with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role requires reading electrical drawings, preparing reports, and delivering exceptional customer service while building lasting

Qualifications

8+ years of field service or engineering experience in electrical power distribution systems.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 70%.
Candidates must have US work authorization.

Responsibilities

Execute startup, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair on electrical power distribution equipment.
Perform field service on low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, ATS, PLCs, and power management systems.
Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Support retrofits, upgrades, modernization projects, and emergency service calls.
Develop electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of material as required.
Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain relationships.
Prepare service and commissioning reports and customer documentation.
