Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer to join our multi-disciplinary team in the United States. You will lead complex design of plumbing, fire protection, and related MEP systems for large educational, healthcare, corporate, and science facilities, guiding others and interfacing with clients and the project team.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience, an Associates degree in Engineering or related field, and is CPD/PE/FPE US-registered; LEED preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 8+ years of related experience required.
• CPD, PE or FPE in the United States preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Design ductwork, piping and equipment for plumbing and fire protection systems for large-scale buildings.
• Provide technical leadership to designers and engineering team.
• Direct the work of less experienced staff and conduct annual performance reviews.
• May serve in QAQC and independent review.
• Interface with clients and project team; attend Owner-Architect-Constr. meetings.
• Model in Revit/BIM for plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic design to construction administration.
• Specify equipment such as water heaters, plumbing fixtures, pumps.
• Review shop drawings for compliance with specs and contract documents.
• Site visits to verify conditions and observe progress; participate in construction meetings.
