Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Designer to lead complex design for plumbing and fire protection in large buildings across the United States.

The role requires an Associate degree in engineering, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency with Revit. You will mentor staff, oversee QAQC, and coordinate with clients and the design team. Remote and diverse project opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 8+ years of related experience required.
• CPD/PE or FPE in the United States preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
• Must work independently with no oversight or guidance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus.

Responsibilities

• Design ductwork, piping, and equipment for plumbing and fire protection in large buildings.
• Mentor and lead designers and the engineering team.
• Direct work of junior staff, including performance reviews.
• Support QAQC and independent review processes.
• Interface with clients and project team; attend OAC meetings.
• Model plumbing and HVAC systems in Revit/BIM from schematic to construction admin.
• Review shop drawings for compliance with specs.
• Participate in value engineering and project budgeting.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction.
