Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Plumber Technician to provide technical oversight, inspection, and QA support for plumbing systems on federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas. The role requires review of installations for compliance with IPC, UFC, and contract requirements, plus coordination with project teams and government representatives.

Must be a US citizen and pass a federal background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in plumbing preferred.
• Valid Plumbing License required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in plumbing installation, inspection, testing, or construction oversight.
• Thorough knowledge of IPC, UFC, and applicable plumbing standards.
• Experience reviewing construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience conducting inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems.
• Experience supporting federal, DoD, USACE, or military construction projects preferred.
• OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of International Plumbing Codes and UFC requirements.
• Attend meetings to discuss related features of work for project success.
• Perform plan reviews with teammates applying lessons learned.
• Schedule and conduct plumbing inspection and surveys across project phases.
• Inspect work in compliance with approved documentation on all projects.
• Evaluate practices to ensure compliance with codes and contract requirements.
• Prepare technical reports with corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Provide guidance to improve work practices and facility design.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance tests of plumbing systems.
• Review submittals and provide constructive comments for documentation.
