Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Plumber Technician to provide technical oversight, inspection, and QA for plumbing systems on federal construction projects. The role requires reviewing installations for IPC/UFC compliance and includes collaboration with project teams to ensure systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned per contract requirements.

The candidate should have a Plumbing License, 10+ years of experience, and strong communication and technical writing skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; plumbing training preferred.
• Valid Plumbing License required.
• 10+ years in plumbing installation, inspection, testing, or construction oversight.
• Thorough knowledge of IPC, UFC, and applicable plumbing standards.
• Experience reviewing construction plans, specs, shop drawings, and technical docs.
• Experience with federal/DoD/military construction preferred.
• OSHA 10/30 preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Strong communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plumbing system installations for IPC/UFC compliance and contract requirements.
• Attend meetings to discuss work features and project success.
• Perform reviews and plan in-hand checks with teammates.
• Schedule and conduct plumbing inspections across pre-, during, and post-construction phases.
• Evaluate work practices for code compliance.
• Prepare detailed technical reports with corrective actions.
• Provide guidance to improve design and construction features of plumbing systems.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance tests of plumbing systems.
• Review submittals and RFIs; comment on documentation quality.
• Assist with field changes and scope reviews as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
