Marathon Petroleum Corporation seeks a Senior Platforms Engineer for the Refining IT Edge team to design, govern, and automate secure, scalable hybrid/multi‑cloud platforms. You will drive modernization and balance technical with business priorities, leading cross‑functional programs and vendor partnerships.

Ideal candidates bring enterprise platform architecture experience across data centers, cloud (Azure/AWS), containers, and edge tech.

Formación

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
5+ years of relevant experience required.
Experience racking infrastructure hardware such as Dell, HP, or others.
Experience in managing and supporting server infrastructure including Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper‑V/Nutanix, and storage systems.
Experience architecting integrations with Cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
Experience with backup and recovery strategies using Rubrik is preferred.
Proven ownership of large‑scale initiatives is preferred.
Experience operating in regulated or complex environments is preferred.

Responsabilidades

Identifies performance bottlenecks, conducts root cause analysis, and implements solutions to enhance platform performance.
Contributes to troubleshooting procedures, minimizes downtime, and collaborates with vendor support.
Designs disaster recovery and testing, establishes automated, resilient platforms with strong backup and cybersecurity practices.
Analyzes performance data to identify trends and drive continuous improvements.
Leads design and configuration of complex platforms and systems across data centers, cloud, containers, and edge technologies.
Drives modernization of infrastructure, balancing technical, operational, and business priorities.
Leads cross‑functional programs and vendor partnerships with end‑to‑end ownership and measurable outcomes.
Maintains a comprehensive knowledge base and mentors engineers to foster collaboration.
