Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Findlay, Ohio, seeks a Senior Platforms Engineer for the Refining IT Edge team. You will design, govern, and automate secure, scalable hybrid/multi-cloud platforms, focusing on IaC, CI/CD, and policy-driven infrastructure across data centers, cloud, containers, and edge tech.

You will lead cross-functional programs, balance technical and business needs, mentor engineers, and drive measurable improvements in reliability, cost, and deployment velocity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience racking infrastructure hardware (Dell/HP).
• Experience with Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper‑V/Nutanix and storage systems.
• Experience architecting integrations with Cloud (Azure, AWS).
• Experience with backup/recovery (Rubrik).
• Owned large-scale initiatives (e.g., cloud migrations, data center transformations).
• Regulated/complex environments experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify bottlenecks, conduct root-cause analysis, and optimize performance.
• Lead cross-functional programs and vendor partnerships.
• Design and evolve secure, scalable hybrid and multi-cloud platforms.
• Develop automated pipelines using IaC and CI/CD.
• Drive disaster recovery planning and cybersecurity practices.
