Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer for Platform Quality and Reliability to own the operational health of the NBA platform post‑build. This hands‑on role requires you to contribute every sprint and ensure production readiness, scalability, and robust testing.

You will lead quality gates, drive observability, and coordinate across pods while mentoring contractors. Remote/hybrid with occasional travel to Humana offices is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required.
• 5+ years designing, developing, and testing software applications and/or infrastructure.
• 4+ years of full stack experience with 1-2 years focused on platform reliability or SRE.
• Hands-on testing infrastructure experience across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Strong observability practices: logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting.
• Experience designing and enforcing error handling in distributed systems.
• Proven ability to lead a small team or pod and manage contractors.
• Comfort with a polyglot stack: Java, Python, Node.js, TypeScript.
• Strong communication skills and alignment with leadership.
• Passion for improving consumer experiences and using AI productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Platform reliability ownership across NBA platform services.
• Hands-on development and production code delivery.
• Build and maintain automated testing infrastructure and standards.
• Own logging, alerting, and monitoring for production visibility.
• Design and enforce error handling patterns across services.
• Evaluate scalability and lead efforts for reliable growth.
• Define quality gates and manage handoff from delivery to production.
• Manage quality and reliability engineers within the pod.
• Coordinate with other pods to address quality concerns early.
