Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead teams building a best-in-class Health100 platform for consumer health experiences. You will drive scalable cloud-native solutions, guide architecture decisions, and manage cross-functional programs that deliver measurable business value while leveraging Generative AI and intelligent automation.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, leadership, and collaboration across engineering, product, design, security, and analytics

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing and growing high-performing engineering teams in Agile, cloud-native environments.
• Strong hands-on technical foundation in Java and microservices architecture.
• 5+ years of cloud development experience (GCP preferred), with the ability to guide architecture decisions and evaluate engineering tradeoffs.
• Proven ability to lead teams through the full software delivery lifecycle from discovery and design through deployment and production operations at scale.
• Experience delivering modern platform capabilities and leveraging AI-powered technologies, large language models (LLMs), intelligent automation, or data-driven solutions to improve business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Technical & Architectural Leadership: Design scalable distributed systems, APIs, and AI-enabled platform capabilities.
• Team & Talent Development: Mentor engineers and foster innovation and AI-assisted development practices.
• Execution & Ownership: Lead end-to-end engineering initiatives on high-visibility projects.
• Performance, Risk & Governance: Establish KPIs/OKRs and ensure secure, compliant AI usage.
• Collaboration & Innovation: Partner across teams, staying current on Generative AI and automation.
