Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on Lead Director of Software Engineering to guide platform modernization and multi-domain integration on Health100. You will own strategic roadmaps, mentor managers and engineers, and partner with Product, Architecture, Design, Security, and external stakeholders to deliver high-impact health tech platforms.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in large-scale distributed systems, deep cloud-native expertise, Java/Python, and hands-on AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in large-scale distributed platforms
• Proven delivery of large-scale, multi-team engineering programs with platform modernization and cloud migrations
• Strong depth in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures including Java/Spring Boot, Python
• Executive-level communication and influence skills with experience building scalable engineering organizations
• Hands-on experience delivering AI-enabled or generative AI-integrated software solutions

Responsibilities

• Own strategic and technology roadmaps across multi-team programs
• Establish engineering standards, governance, and risk management practices
• Lead engineering managers and senior engineers; manage hiring and career development
• Coordinate with Product, Business, Architecture, Design, Security, and external partners
• Navigate architectural complexity across domains and evolving requirements
• Oversee vendor and contingent workforce strategies and AI/cloud research directions
