Job summary

IREN is hiring senior software engineers for Platform Engineering. You will own end-to-end system design, interfaces between teams, and cross-cutting improvements across data engineering, automation, developer tooling, AI enablement, and product engineering.

You will mentor peers, review designs, and stay hands-on while raising the bar for the engineering organization. This role emphasizes collaboration across teams, clear contract definitions, and the ability to guide multi-team delivery

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production work.
• Own system-level design and architecture across a platform.
• Deep experience with distributed systems and failure modes.
• Coaching: evidence of engineers who grew under your guidance.
• Experience owning APIs with versioning and breaking-change migrations.
• Excellent writing and communication, including design docs.

Responsibilities

• Own interfaces between your systems and others, and manage versioning/contract guarantees.
• Write clear design documents and review code to raise standards.
• Mentor engineers and help them grow through pairing and challenging problems.
• Stay hands-on: write and review code and participate in on-call/on-call rotations.
