Job summary

Quilter is seeking a Senior or Staff Platform Engineer to build and operate secure cloud infrastructure and automate controls across access, secrets, auditing, and remediation.

You will own the engineering work behind those controls and collaborate with Platform engineers on reliability, recovery, and efficiency improvements. The role emphasizes durable systems design and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Experience owning production cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on security controls: IAM, secrets, audit logging.
• Kubernetes, containers, and IaC; AWS and Terraform familiarity.
• Strong troubleshooting across Linux, networks, and cloud services.
• Ability to build automation/tools in Python or Go with engineers.
• Translate security requirements into technical controls and demonstrate effectiveness.
• Interest in recurring operational work and larger engineering projects.
• Clear communication and prioritization across teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure infrastructure and policies.
• Own infrastructure maintenance lifecycle: updates, vulnerabilities, remediation.
• Automate compliance controls and evidence collection for audits.
• Make recovery procedures reliable with backups and runbooks.
• Improve operational readiness: alerts, playbooks, incident response.
• Drive infrastructure efficiency and cost-conscious improvements.
• Collaborate with delivery and data platforms to embed security.
