Job summary

Quilter is seeking a Senior or Staff Platform Engineer to build and operate secure cloud infrastructure, automating controls for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and future FedRAMP work. You’ll own the engineering work behind access, secrets, auditability, and recoverability, partnering across Platform and business teams.

You’ll focus on cloud security, infrastructure maintenance, and control automation, delivering repeatable evidence collection and reliable backups, with opportunities to shape a growing

Qualifications

• Experience owning production cloud infrastructure and maintaining it.
• Hands-on security controls like IAM, secrets management, audit logging.
• Practical Kubernetes, container, and infrastructure-as-code experience (AWS, Terraform).
• Strong troubleshooting across Linux, networking, and cloud services.
• Ability to write automation in Python or Go.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure infrastructure: improve cloud and Kubernetes configuration, network boundaries, machine identities, secrets management, least-privilege access, and audit logging.
• Own the infrastructure maintenance lifecycle: keep images, dependencies, and components current; investigate vulnerabilities; remediate safely.
• Implement and automate compliance controls: translate requirements into technical controls, validation checks, access reviews, evidence collection, and remediation tooling; support SOC 2/ISO 27001/ahead of FedRAMP.
• Make recovery dependable: implement and test backup/restore procedures and document recovery steps.
• Improve operational readiness: alerts, incident playbooks, and production troubleshooting.
• Contribute to infrastructure efficiency: monitor resource usage and costs, identify constraints and waste, and plan improvements.
• Partner on safe deployment and data access: embed security and operational requirements into reusable systems.
