Job summary

Fanatics Markets is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to drive core infrastructure and developer experience. You will design durable platform abstractions and partner with engineering leads to enable rapid innovation with stability and security.

You will own complex features from ideation to production, mentor mid-level engineers, and ship production code using Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot to accelerate delivery while ensuring quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or backend engineering.
• Strong track record building scalable, cloud-native environments (AWS/Kubernetes).
• Proficient with AI collaborators to ship production code and optimize workflows.
• Experience evaluating AI-generated code for security and reliability.
• Hands-on with IaC frameworks: Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation.
• High proficiency in Java and Python; Golang is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement team-wide standards for AI-augmented development and validation.
• Identify AI-related security risks and track team productivity metrics.
• Design, build, and maintain highly available cloud-native infrastructure.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
• Implement platform security safeguards and compliance standards.
• Enhance observability via monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Mentor engineers, lead incident response, and promote best practices.
