Job summary

Pivotal Health is seeking engineers to own critical platform components end to end, collaborating with product, data, and infra teams. You will design reusable interfaces, balance scalability with security, and improve reliability through monitoring and automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fullstack, backend or platform software engineering.
• Strong software engineering foundation with Python.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-native systems (GCP preferred).
• Experience with relational databases and data modeling, including schema evolution.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis).
• Ability to move between domains like authorization, messaging infra, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own platform components end to end: design, build, operate services, libraries and schemas.
• Design extendable interfaces so product teams can reuse the platform.
• Shape scalable, reliable system interactions with security in mind.
• Improve reliability with monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and tests.
• Reduce toil via abstractions and new tooling, including AI-assisted tooling.
• Partner with product teams to unblock delivery and reflect needs in platform decisions.
