Job summary

Pivotal Health is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to shape reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of our AI-driven reimbursement platform. This senior individual contributor role collaborates with software, data, and security teams to design resilient systems and improve observability while maintaining healthcare compliance.

You will lead architecture discussions, mentor engineers, and drive practices that reduce toil and elevate reliability across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure engineering, or operating large-scale production systems.
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, networking, containers, orchestration, infrastructure as code, and modern deployment practices.
• Experience designing, building, and operating highly available systems in a fast-growing production environment.
• Strong understanding of observability, SLOs, capacity planning, incident management, disaster recovery, and performance engineering; hands-on with debugging across layers.
• Experience creating automation and internal tooling that reduces operational toil and improves developer productivity.

Responsibilities

• Set reliability strategy: define vision and roadmap for reliability, availability, scalability, and operational readiness.
• Design resilient, scalable infrastructure across cloud, deployment systems, networking, compute, storage.
• Build world-class observability: metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting for rapid issue resolution.
• Improve incident response and resilience: incident management, on-call, postmortems, disaster recovery.
• Reduce operational toil through automation: streamline deployment workflows, capacity management, provisioning, diagnostics.
• Embed reliability across engineering by creating reusable patterns and tooling.
• Strengthen security and compliance with healthcare data protection requirements.
• Provide technical leadership: architecture reviews, mentoring, and setting standards across org.
