Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation LP is seeking a Senior Platforms Engineer to design and govern secure, scalable hybrid and multi‑cloud platforms. You will lead automation via Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and policy-driven infrastructure to ensure reliability, speed, and governance across data centers, cloud, containers, and edge technologies.

The role requires deep enterprise platform expertise, cross‑functional leadership, and mentoring of engineers, with a focus on cost optimization,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of relevant experience in enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience racking infrastructure hardware (Dell, HP, etc.).
• Experience with Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper‑V/Nutanix, and storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify bottlenecks and optimize platform performance; establish benchmarks and capacity plans.
• Lead design of secure, scalable hybrid and multi-cloud platforms across data centers and cloud.
• Develop and enforce IaC, CI/CD, automation, and policy-driven infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers and govern architecture; drive cross‑functional programs and vendor partnerships.
• Plan disaster recovery, backup strategies, and ensure high availability and cybersecurity.
