Job summary

Berlitz in Germany is seeking a Senior Platform & DevOps Engineer to design and scale our next-generation cloud infrastructure and software delivery ecosystem. You will own core areas of our internal engineering platform, partnering with the wider engineering team to enable rapid, safe deployments to production.

You will work cross-functionally, providing CI/CD, IaC, and observability guidance, while delivering greenfield services with modern, secure practices and minimal legacy debt.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE with high production autonomy.
• Deep production-level knowledge of AWS core services (VPC, IAM, Networking, ECS, EKS, RDS, Lambda).
• Docker and container runtimes with AWS ECS (Fargate) and Kubernetes (EKS) knowledge.
• Terraform for modular cloud architectures.
• GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and artifact management experience.
• Go, Python, or advanced Bash scripting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greenfield Architecture: Architect, build, and operate multi-account AWS environments with IaC.
• Container Management: Optimize ECS (Fargate); use EKS for complex workloads.
• CI/CD: Build automated delivery workflows with GitHub Actions.
• Developer Enablement: Provide self-service infra blueprints and guardrails for backend teams.
• Observability & Reliability: Implement telemetry, logging, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
• Security by Design: Integrate automated security checks and IAM least-privilege models.
