Job summary

finmid.com is building core platform infrastructure to power regulated financial services with modern software tooling. You will own production systems end-to-end, design cloud foundations, and drive security, observability, and reliability across teams.

This distributed-first role offers a Berlin office option, hardware budget, and a home office stipend, plus meaningful equity participation and generous PTO as you help scale fintech software delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving mindset focused on simple, effective solutions.
• Hands-on experience with containers, orchestration, and cloud platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS).
• Proficient in Kotlin and TypeScript; able to write clean, maintainable code.
• Strong collaboration, able to explain technical decisions to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to grow and tackle unfamiliar challenges.

Responsibilities

• Architect and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes, including container orchestration and infrastructure-as-code.
• Build, refine, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, internal developer platforms, and shared tooling.
• Evaluate, integrate, and roll out new tools and services that improve how software gets built.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to remove delivery bottlenecks and accelerate shipping.
• Own production systems end-to-end, from architectural decisions through incident response.
• Strengthen security posture, observability coverage, and overall engineering quality bar.
