Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Platform & Data Infrastructure) to architect, scale, and maintain the core cloud-native platform and data workflows. You will own multi-region Kubernetes fleets, automated GitOps pipelines, and policy governance, collaborating with Platform, Security, SRE, and Product teams.

You will work hands-on with Terraform, Airflow, Kafka, and BigQuery, ensuring high availability and security in production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in platform engineering, SRE, or cloud data infrastructure.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Bash, SQL, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Operate Cloud-Native Kubernetes fleets including multi-region deployment (GKE/EKS).
• Drive GitOps CI/CD delivery with FluxCD, Helm, and automated pipelines.
• Scale IaC with modular Terraform codebases and policy guardrails (Sentinel/OPA).
• Maintain data pipelines and workflows with Apache Airflow, Kafka, and BigQuery.
• Enforce zero-trust security and secret management (Vault, Google Secret Manager).
• Lead complex migrations with zero downtime (IP migrations, cluster rebuilds).
• Support on-call rotations and design observability dashboards (Splunk, GCP logs).
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers in code/design reviews.
