Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Platform & Data Infrastructure) to architect and scale the core cloud-native platform and data workflows. You will own multi-region Kubernetes fleets, automated GitOps pipelines, policy-as-code governance, and enterprise data orchestration, collaborating with Platform, Security, SRE, and Product Engineering teams.

The role is based out of Mountain View, CA or McLean, VA with full-time in-office attendance; you will implement self-service infra,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in platform engineering, SRE, or cloud data infrastructure.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Bash, SQL, or Java.
• Deep experience operating enterprise-scale Kubernetes fleets (GKE/EKS) and container ecosystems.
• Extensive experience writing modular Terraform and IaC at scale.
• Experience with event-streaming/workflow systems such as Airflow, Kafka, or BigQuery.

Responsibilities

• Operate Cloud-Native Kubernetes Fleets for multi-region deployments (GKE/EKS).
• Drive GitOps & CI/CD with FluxCD and Helm for cluster bootstrapping and rollouts.
• Scale Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and policy governance.
• Maintain Data Platform Infrastructure using Airflow, Kafka, and BigQuery.
• Enforce secrets management and zero-trust security practices.
• Lead complex migrations with zero downtime and database cutovers.
• Participate in on-call rotations and design observability dashboards.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers on standards.
