Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Findlay, Ohio seeks an experienced IT infrastructure leader to drive platform and system performance across hybrid cloud environments. You will design, implement, and optimize scalable, highly available infrastructure.

Collaborating with cross‑functional teams and vendors, you will apply Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and automation while upholding security and disaster recovery standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience required
• Experience racking infrastructure hardware such as Dell, Hewlitt Packard, or others required
• Experience in managing and supporting server infrastructure including Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V/Nutanix, and storage systems required
• Experience architecting and designing integrations with Cloud based systems such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or others preferred
• Experience in backup and recovery strategies and systems such as Rubrik to include familiarity with backup architecture and lead disaster recovery or business continuity exercises preferred
• Proven ownership of large-scale initiatives preferred (e.g., enterprise cloud migrations, data center transformations, or hybrid cloud implementations)
• Experience operating in regulated or complex environments preferred (security, compliance, uptime requirements)

Responsibilities

• Identifies performance bottlenecks, conducts root cause analysis, and proposes and implements solutions to enhance platform & system performance
• Contributes to the development and improvement of troubleshooting procedures, measures to minimize platform & system downtime, and documentation
• Leads the design of disaster/system recovery and testing, with automated, resilient platforms and cybersecurity practices
• Analyzes performance and utilization data to identify trends and implement corrective actions for continuous improvements
• Leads the design and configuration of complex platforms & systems, including hybrid/multi-cloud and IaC-driven infrastructures
• Leads infrastructure strategy by driving modernization and balancing technical, operational, and business priorities
• Leads cross-functional programs and vendor partnerships aligning technology initiatives with business goals
