Job summary

NRG Energy seeks a senior technical leader at the Cedar Bayou Plant to drive safe, reliable, and economical operation. You will oversee planning, budgeting, and execution of technical programs and outages, while guiding a team of engineers and specialists.

The role demands strong safety focus, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to manage projects from conception through execution in a Texas power plant environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 8 years of experience in a power/industrial plant setting.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 7 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical activities and coordinate resources for safe, efficient plant operation.
• Develop and administer the station's technical plans and budgets.
• Oversee outage work scopes, schedules, budgets, and post-outage activities.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and drive safety/environmental programs.
• Direct and mentor Process Specialists and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Manage capital and O&M projects including justification and tracking.
