Job summary

You will review plans submitted for new construction, alterations, or demolitions, provide technical recommendations, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; four years’ experience reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans.
• Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain ICC certifications within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Supervises overall operation of plan review activity and coordinates work of staff with other sections.
• Develops training plans and conducts training for Plans Examiners and Field Inspectors.
• Reviews plans and specifications for building permits to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances.
• Maintains accurate records and facilitates communications with public and professionals.
