Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Senior Plans Examiner to join our team remotely in Texas. You will perform complete plan reviews for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, ensuring compliance with adopted codes, city, state, and federal regulations.

Attend preconstruction conferences and provide technical direction to inspection personnel. Candidates should have 4-7 years of experience, ICC Plans Examiner certification, and familiarity with zoning aspects and current building codes.

Qualifications

4-7 years of Commercial Plans Examiner experience
ICC Plans Examiner Certification required
ICC Trades Plans Examiner certification preferred
ICC Building Official or Master Code Professional certification preferred

Responsibilities

Provide complete plan reviews of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Reviews all plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure compliance with adopted codes by city, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Attend preconstruction conferences with contractors and/or developers and associated staff members.
Provides technical direction and assistance to inspection personnel relating to field problems.
Assess and resolve complaints received from clients, applicants, the public, designers, and contractors.
Regularly interacts directly with municipal clients and their staff.
Attends meetings, educational seminars, and functions relating to building codes.
