Job summary

State of Colorado seeks an Inspector III in the Office of Regulatory Oversight within the Division of Housing to review factory-built and site-built construction documents and foundation systems for compliance with IRC, IBC, IECC and related codes.

You will provide technical guidance, audit quality control, and assist in training team members while coordinating with multiple departments to ensure safe, compliant building practices across Colorado.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in plumbing, electrical plan reviews or building inspections with at least one year as an inspector.
• A combination of related education in Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Ability to obtain Fire inspector III Plans Examiner Certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan Review: verify architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, energy and life safety details against codes and calculations.
• Quality Control: audit in-plant quality controls and ensure compliance with major code provisions.
• Scheduling and training: assign weekly work, ensure timely plan reviews, and provide technical training.
