Job summary

GMS, Inc., Consulting Engineers is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector in Colorado Springs to serve as the on-site representative for municipal infrastructure projects. You will observe construction, document field conditions, and support timely resolutions with engineers and contractors.

The role emphasizes thorough documentation, collaboration with field personnel, and mentoring less-experienced inspectors. Travel is required across Colorado.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years in heavy civil or municipal construction inspection.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and contract docs.
• Ability to document field conditions without directing methods.
• Experience with daily reports, photos, punch lists, and redlined drawings.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document construction for conformance with plans and contracts.
• Prepare daily reports, photos, quantity records, and testing docs.
• Lead or participate in progress meetings with contractors and clients.
• Track progress, review payment applications, and document quantities.
• Identify nonconforming work and coordinate with the project engineer.
• Coordinate materials testing and review test results for completeness.
