Job summary

Chord Energy is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer in Houston, TX, with a hybrid schedule (remote Mondays and Fridays). The role focuses on corporate forecast models, capital allocation, and process improvements within the Corporate Planning Group.

You will coordinate monthly short-term outlooks and quarterly long-term NAV models, partnering with stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities and automate analysis using Python, Snowflake SQL, and AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• 5-8 years industry experience.
• 3+ years in a Reservoir, Development, or Planning role.
• Ability to manage projects with a large group of multi-disciplined contributors.
• Ability to perform detailed analysis and change tracking across large datasets.
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate through various mediums.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate updates to the short-term outlook model (monthly) and long-term net asset value model (quarterly).
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
• Contribute to modernization and optimization of the planning process.
• Apply Python, Snowflake SQL, and AI tools to automate analysis.
• Tackle complex business problems with financial impact.
• Learn and leverage training resources provided by Chord’s Data Analytics teams.
• Demonstrate clear communication, detailed focus, and cross-team collaboration.
