Job summary

Chord Energy seeks a Senior Planning Engineer to manage the corporate forecast models within the Corporate Planning Group. Located in Houston, TX, with a hybrid schedule for remote work on Mondays and Fridays.

Level and salary commensurate with experience. The role coordinates monthly updates to the short-term outlook model and quarterly long-term NAV, partnering with stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities while driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
• 5-8 years industry experience
• 3+ years in a Reservoir, Development, or Planning role
• Ability to manage projects with a large group of multi-disciplined contributors
• Ability to perform detailed analysis and change tracking across large datasets
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate through various mediums

Responsibilities

• Coordinate updates to the short-term outlook model (monthly) and long-term net asset value model (quarterly)
• Communicate key metrics and changes effectively to upper management
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organization
• Contribute to modernization and optimization of the planning process
• Apply Python, Snowflake SQL, and AI tools to automate analysis and turn questions into defensible answers
