Job summary

The University of Michigan seeks a Senior Plan Reviewer to ensure design and construction plans meet university standards, codes, and constructability. You will coordinate with design managers and perform field verifications across campus, contributing to project accuracy and safety.

Requires a Bachelor's in architecture/engineering or related field and 5+ years’ experience, with travel, reports, and a valid driver's license. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architectural, engineering or construction field or credentials showing completion of a certified skilled trade apprenticeship.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in architectural, engineering, or construction industry.
• Experience conducting detailed plan reviews, site inspections and preparing related reports.

Responsibilities

• Review design and construction plans for construction and renovation projects to verify compliance with university design standards, constructability, biddability, and codes.
• Communicate identified discrepancies to U-M design managers.
• Travel on and off campus to perform field verifications of existing conditions to inform plan reviews.
• Participate in meetings and training to maintain expertise and consult with peers and experts.
