Job summary

The Plan Document Compliance Senior Lead at TIAA will ensure the best interests of institutional clients by reviewing defined contribution retirement plan documents and resolving complex compliance issues in alignment with ERISA and plan documents. You will influence strategy with internal partners and clients, acting as a thought leader in plan document compliance.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with pension/ERISA experience.
• Experience reviewing and creating plan documents for 403(b), 401(a)/(k), nonqualified deferred compensation plans.
• Experience updating templated plan documents based on regulatory changes.
• Understanding of plan administration, design, provisions, and product offerings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates defined contribution retirement plan documents for internal recordkeeping problems, compliance issues or client concerns.
• Provides new plan setup and review suggestions to influence clients toward best practices while meeting objectives.
• Researches and resolves highly complex regulatory compliance issues arising from client questions and internal reviews.
• Analyzes impact of new regulations and develops strategies to align client decisions with best practices.
• Serves as lead subject matter expert on defined contribution plan document compliance in cross-functional initiatives.
