Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a retirement plan documents specialist to analyze, interpret, and prepare retirement plan documents for 401(a), 401(k), and 403(b) plans. You will consult on design changes, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with clients, attorneys, and management to maintain accurate plan documentation.

The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, accuracy in amendments, and keeping up with changes in retirement plan regulations. A hybrid in-office schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Five years of pension/retirement plan experience.
• In-depth knowledge of retirement plan regulations and plan design for qualified plans.
• Experience analyzing complex plan design provisions and evaluating operational impact.
• Strong written communication skills for technical retirement plan concepts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain retirement plan documents and related amendments.
• Analyze complex plan design changes and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with clients, advisors, attorneys, and teams to resolve issues.
• Review plan mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions, and other transactions.
• Research compliance issues and provide recommendations on complex situations.
• Support terminations with amendments, participant communications, and filings.
• Identify risks in plan documents and propose solutions.
• Assist in legislative/regulatory restatement and amendment projects.
