Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking a piping engineer focused on nuclear projects. You will perform piping analysis for new and existing generation projects, interfacing with systems engineering, structural engineering, piping design, and support design groups to design piping systems and supports.

You will reconcile pipe stress reports for as-built conditions, prepare analytical reports on piping reactions to equipment and structures, and interpret code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Piping analysis work on new and existing generation nuclear projects, interfacing with systems, structural, piping design, and support design groups for piping systems and pipe supports.
• Reconciliation of pipe stress reports for as-built conditions.
• Prepare analytical reports determining reactions of piping on equipment and structures.
• Interpret and apply code requirements.
• Review proposed piping support systems, identify issues, and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Interface with external contacts including equipment suppliers, clients, and installation contractors.
• Manage workload to meet project commitments.
• Consult with client and others on field-related issues including follow-up reports or design modifications.
• Coordinate and provide guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design.
• Share knowledge with peers through S&L’s Communities of Practice to develop career.
