Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a mid-level Piping Engineer to perform evaluations under ASME B31.1 and related codes. You will prepare calculations, specifications, and designs for piping systems while collaborating with project teams and vendors.

This role supports a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days in-office weekly, and offers competitive compensation and benefits. The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 3+ years of experience and strong communication

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS or MS in Mechanical/Engineering with emphasis in solid mechanics/structural analysis
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME BPV Section III piping codes
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements design and application
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex calculations and specifications for components and systems.
• Prepare design inputs for P&IDs and Master Diagrams under supervision.
• Prepare specifications for most balance of plant equipment.
• Prepare bid evaluations and economic calculations; solicit data from vendors.
• Prepare simple reports and studies; monitor budgets and schedules.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and communicate effectively with project teams.
• Communicate with vendors using clear, complete specifications.
