Job summary

The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline at Sargent & Lundy performs evaluations for piping systems per ASME B31.1 and related codes. This senior-level role provides technical support, reviews calculations, and oversees discipline design tasks on projects with in-office work 3 days per week as part of a hybrid schedule.

Qualified candidates hold ABET-accredited degrees, 5+ years of experience, and strong communication skills, with knowledge of pipe supporting elements and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering, from an ABET-approved program.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&PV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements.
• Ability to navigate a 3D CAD model.
• Experience with AutoPIPE or PIPESTRESS software.
• Experience with ANSYS Workbench and Mechanical ADP.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews complex calculations.
• Reviews simple system/structural designs and prepares complex system designs.
• Prepares design input for drawing production (P&IDs and Master Diagrams).
• Reviews design input for simple system/structures.
• Prepares and reviews simple reports/studies.
• Develops single-discipline/simple-scope project budgets, schedules, and project work plans.
• Provides single-discipline input to simple proposals.
