Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to deliver complex calculations and designs for piping systems, aligned with ASME codes, in a hybrid work setting requiring in-office presence three days a week. You will guide engineering designs, review drawings, and coordinate with vendors and project teams.

You will leverage expertise in piping codes, pipe supports, and FEM analysis while mentoring staff and ensuring deliverables meet client needs and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program, with emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Must have knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&PV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of design, selection, and application of pipe supporting elements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews complex calculations.
• Reviews simple system/structural designs and prepares complex system designs.
• Prepares design input for drawings (P&IDs, Master Diagrams) and reviews input for simple systems.
• Prepares and reviews equipment specifications and material specs.
• Prepares bid evaluations and calculations for economics.
• Prepares and reviews simple reports/studies.
• Develops single-discipline project budgets, schedules, and plans.
• Provides single-discipline input to simple proposals.
• Communicates clearly in meetings and summaries meeting notes.
